genHOME Lead

I am really excited to have been appointed into the position of genHOME lead. This is a unique project.  The genHOME will be a database of research and evidence conducted in and around housing adaptations and design that supports health and well-being.  As well as being an evidence base for those working in this field of practice, it is hoped  the genHOME project will have a strategic influence on the national and international research agenda.

The genHOME project will be hosted on the College of Occupational Therapists website and this will be launch in early 2015.  In the meantime, if you want to know more about the genHOME then click here

I am an Occupational Therapist and my main passion is the using the built environment to support people's occupational performance (basically ensuring people are able to do the things they want, need and have to do in their everyday lives without being hindered by the built environment). Having completed an MSc in Accessibility and Inclusive Design I was given an opportunity to complete a PhD, which I did in July 2016. Currently I am based in the School of Health Sciences at University of Salford. My research interest is in the process used by occupational therapists to modify home environments.
