Prezzi Presentation

I’ve not been well over the last fortnight, hence why I have not posted anything. To make up for this lack of blogging I thought I would share a link to a Prezzi presentation I did to a bunch of OT’s in Lincoln. Click on the title below to go the Presentation:

“From theory to practice: Improving the design of housing modifications through the use of Building Information Modelling”

The presentation explores the role of occupational therapy within the field of housing modification from theory to practice. Furthermore, it examines how building information modelling, (which is a method of using 3D computer aided design along side policies, processes and procedures to manage construction projects), has the potential to improve how occupational therapists design, analyse and evaluate housing modifications.

I am an Occupational Therapist and my main passion is the using the built environment to support people's occupational performance (basically ensuring people are able to do the things they want, need and have to do in their everyday lives without being hindered by the built environment). Having completed an MSc in Accessibility and Inclusive Design I was given an opportunity to complete a PhD, which I did in July 2016. Currently I am based in the School of Health Sciences at University of Salford. My research interest is in the process used by occupational therapists to modify home environments.
